Since its inception in early 2024, this blog has always been about occasionally sharing my travels with you through my photographs and words. But since my return from Bali last May, I haven’t traveled much. The reason?
I have a hell of a lot of work. I’ve been spending most of my days and nights staring at my computer screen and expanding my business like never before. The truth is, this blog is just a tiny part of the vast expansion I am planning for my business this year.
First, the podcast. I launched Storytellers & Explorers last July with the first episode featuring my friend Sébastien Foucan, co-founder of parkour and actor in James Bond: Casino Royale. We discussed his philosophy of life and his approach to storytelling (if you missed the episode, you can watch it here).
Another episode is coming this Tuesday, October 1st, exactly three months after the first one. The reason I’ve posted only two episodes in the span of three months (it’s worth mentioning that I’m not playing the algorithm game of one episode per week) is because I’m building another huge project in the shadows—something that I’m very passionate about and that I’m about to reveal to you in a matter of days.
If you don’t want to miss any of it, I’ve launched a newsletter that you can access here. I was planning to send an email every now and then, but now I feel that I want to post regularly, so I’m thinking about sending a newsletter every Sunday. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time. I will share the latest news about my life, my work (which includes the podcast and future guests), my thoughts on specific topics that interest me, and, of course, my travels and photographs if I have the chance to travel again soon. This blog you’re reading won’t be updated anymore unless I’m traveling somewhere and want to document the experience (which is why I called it Field Notes in the first place).
The new guest I interviewed for the second episode last month is nothing short of extraordinary. I was very lucky to have him on the show. You probably won’t know his name, but he’s worked for decades with some of the most legendary filmmakers in Hollywood. I won’t say too much here, so if you want to hear more about it before the release, subscribe to my newsletter. I’ll publish the first one tomorrow, Sunday.
This guest actually told me something that really resonated with me as we were talking: family always comes first. You’ll see in this episode how serious he is about it. Inspired by his words, and even though I had way too much work to do, I decided to stop everything for a few days in early August and traveled to Italy to visit some of my family, including my nephew and niece, who are in this photograph I took while I was there. Time flies—they’ve grown so much already. Don’t let work stop you from appreciating every moment with your loved ones. You can stop working, but you can’t stop time.
